Milling Cutter for Band Saw production sharpened on Norma NGC
The production of band saw requires high precision tools to achieve clean cutting surfaces and maximum life. An ideal field of application for SCHNEEBERGER CNC grinding machines.
Milling Cutter for Band Saw production sharpened on Norma NGC
The challenge in sharpening of band saw cutters is to combine the constant increase of the tooth face, the taper angle, the depth of the flute and the dimension of undercuts. Not a simple task, but SCHNEEBERGER’s CAD/CAM software Qg1 can solve this problem in an elegant and simple way. Programming in Qg1 is fast and intuitive: Right from the input of the first parameter, the operator is led by help pictures and hereby able to obtain maximum control over the tool geometry and machining processes.
Resharpening of the face of helical cutters, requires grinding with the conical side of the wheel in order to get a rake face as straight as possible. This means very tight tolerances for the grinding process, yet possible with a Norma NGC.
