Flutes and contours are wave formed with a constant cutting and clearance angle. There are two different options for grinding these tools, with a pin mounted high speed and high-frequency spindle for high amplitude configuration or simply with a cup wheel.

Roughing endmills for high stock removal, fact profiled or radially relief-ground. With or without helical flute of the roughing profile. The roughing profile can be manufactured with a torus radius wheel or a profiled wheel.

Shape/profile endmills

Profile endmills with helical flute, shear angles or staggered flutes and free definitions of the radial and axial clearance angle as well as automatic grinding path calculation. The profile can be programmed over different edges. The DXF profile is generated directly in the machine or imported. During manufacturing, the distortion of the profile will be automatically calculated based on the helix and the flute shape.

These tools are used to manufacture band and jig saws blades. The challenge when grinding and re-sharpening band saw cutters lies in combining the constant raise, taper angle, flute depth and undercut dimension. Mathematically, this is no simple task, but Qg1 can resolve this elegantly and simply for the end user.
