The new Gemini NGM TAP grinds flutes, threads and chamfers with great power and precision. An innovative clamping device meets the industry’s requirements of an all-in-one tap production machine. The new comprehensive solution generates a lot of excitement at the trade show.
The Gemini NGM TAP scores with batch size flexibility, short setup times, and reduced personnel cost due to a short production chain. High machining efficiency is based on the rock-solid Gemini structure, linear motors in X, Y and Z as well as a powerful, auto-balanced 24 kW spindle (S1).
The essential component of an all-in-one tap grinder is a clamping system that meets the requirements of all grinding processes:
- clamping between centers for precise thread grinding with adjustable runout and concentricity
- minimal contour for collision-free flute and chamfer grinding, even of small taps
SCHNEEBERGER designed a smart solution. The centers are interchangeable on both sides, and the unique driving ring gives torque but no side forces on the square end. It ensures precise driving and its slim outline avoids collision risk in flute grinding. The tailstock with changeable tips holds the tool in place.
