Chongqing Fubang: Rapidly Expanding Manufacturer of Gear Cutting Tools

In 2017 Chongqing Fubang started its cooperation with the Swiss machine tool manufacturer SCHNEEBERGER. At this time the growing company was in need of high precision and high output production capacity to enlarge their share within this competitive market. “We needed products with stable AAA precision at lowest production cost possible” Mr. Zhou Tianhong, GM at Fubang said. To reach this goal, two machine types out of the SCHNEEBERGER range were chosen, gemini NGM for efficient shaper cutter profiling and norma NGC for tool resharpening. “There were some obvious reasons to choose these two machines” Mr. Zhou says. “First, SCHNEEBERGER has many years of experience in developing and manufacturing grinding machines and their products are famous for high quality, excellent stability and longevity. The gemini NGM offers a powerful grinding spindle, linear motors in all axis, dressing unit and a hydraulic tailstock. Simply a perfect match to our request for shaper cutter profiling.” Mr. Zhou explains. The additional demand of Fubang concerning a specially designed MK4 fixturing could be realized. The norma NGC equipped with dressing unit and hydraulic tailstock is used for resharpening of shaper cutters and gear hobs. Both machines are running the CAD/CAM grinding Software Qg1.

After years of successful use of both grinding machines, a further advantage of this equipment stands out: “Not only the quality and precision of the produced tools was proofed, furthermore the uptime of the machines, operated in day & night shift, is outstanding. Maintenance cost for wear parts or even repair fees are indeed very moderate.” states Mr. Zhou.
